Charming, two-star holiday house in the mountains, near the sulphurous thermal baths of Dorres, especially suitable for nature lovers


This 99m² holiday house is in the lower part of the village, quietly situated and classified as two-star. It is an old farm building made of granite stone, dating back to the 17th century.



The open kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine and opens onto the courtyard. The kitchen also has a counter with bar stools. There is another dining space for eight people in the living room, which is connected to the kitchen and also opens onto the courtyard. The living room has a comfortable sitting area with a fireplace oven. Firewood is provided free of charge by the owner. The three bedrooms can accommodate six people. The first, south-facing bedroom with a view of the mountains has a double bed measuring 140 x 190cm. The second, also south-facing bedroom has two single beds measuring 90 x 190cm and has access to a balcony. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the mountain chain that marks the border with Spain. Children are especially delighted with the bedroom with a bed measuring 90 x 180cm, with another bed underneath that can be pulled out if required. The owner can provide a highchair free of charge. Between the two bedrooms there is the TV room. There is a sofa bed (130cm wide) that can accommodate another person. There is a flatscreen TV with HDMI and a USB port. The bathroom is functional and provides a shower. The toilet is in a separate room. Each room has a radiator (gas or electric) that can be individually regulated. The kitchen does not have its own heating, but is heated along with the adjoining living room.



On the terrace you can find garden furniture, a parasol and two deckchairs. The site is enclosed and therefore suitable for children and dogs. Children can play in the courtyard with greenery, which is enclosed by a stone wall and a gate. Two cars can park behind the car. You can pick aromatic herbs and strawberries when in season from the vegetable garden. An apple tree and a rowan tree provide natural shade in the courtyard. You can use the firewood stacked in the interior courtyard.



The holiday house is 400 metres from the Roman baths at Dorres, with sulphurous thermal water. You can bathe all year round in water of 39 degrees, in front of a mountain panorama. This is especially relaxing after a hike in the mountains or a long day on the ski piste. For children, there is a playground with a slide and swing nearby. Many hiking trails lead past the house. The owner can provide you with a folder with 60 different route suggestions. There are four big skiing resorts within a 15 to 20-minute drive. The charming mountain village of Dorres with its 160 inhabitants characterized by its granite houses is at an altitude of 1450 metres in one of the sunniest regions of France. Font-Romeu is about a 15-minute drive from Dorres. You can shop about seven kilometres away in Bourg-Madame or in the Spanish locality of Puigcerdà. You can do toll-free shopping in Andorra about 35km away. 100 metres from the house there is a farm, where you can buy vegetables, eggs, milk and cheese. A bakery is 2 km away.
