The countryside around Blåvand is strikingly beautiful. Impressive dune formations lead down to the seemingly never-ending beach while the hinterland comprises of large areas of undisturbed moorland and woods. Many holidaymakers return year after year to this part of the west coast to experience the unique charm of the North Sea. Blåvand is also a firm favourite with birds. Its location by the reef makes it popular with migratory birds that use the area as a resting and feeding ground. A number of artists and craftsmen have also settled in the area and you can watch potters, amber polishers and candle makers at work in their workshops.
