Cosy holiday accommodation with a sauna and a generous forest site

This detached holiday house is on the outskirts of Traryd on a side street and is on the edge of a field on the southern shore of the Toyhult Lake (ca. 150 metres as the crow flies). It was built in 2007 and was last fully renovated in 2015.

The main house of around 60m² is a high-quality, individually furnished holiday house with excellent amenities. The property consists of a main house and a guesthouse with a sauna. The main house comprises a living and dining room with a sofa bed (160cm wide), a coffee table, satellite TV with a CD and DVD player, a radio (all German radio channels), a fireplace (firewood included) and a dining table for up to six people. The adjoining, open built-in kitchen is new and of a high standard, equipped with a ceramic hob, oven, fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, filter coffee machine, toaster and kettle. The owner can provide a highchair free of charge. One of the two bedrooms is furnished with a double bed (180cm wide), the other with a bunk bed (90cm wide). The bathroom is fitted with a shower, a toilet, a washbasin, a hairdryer and a washing machine (free use). You go through the garden to the ca. 20m² guesthouse that also has a sofa bed (160cm wide), an armchair, a coffee table, a TV, and a sleeping loft for two people (160cm wide) under the roof. It also has a second bathroom with a sauna (free use), a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. All the rooms have heating and free wireless Internet access (150MB/week in 3G, then slower).

The glazed veranda with two comfortable armchairs leads to one of the two furnished terraces. End your day with a sociable grill evening and enjoy the view of the lake, which can be seen from the house from the late autumn to the spring. There is a further furnished terrace, as well as a 3500m² partly natural forested area, of which part of the site is fenced. A private boat that can be used as a rowing boat or with a motor, as well as bicycles for three people (a ladies’, a men’s and a child’s) can be hired locally, to be booked in advance. A free fishing permit is available. There are three private car parking spaces. Pets are allowed on request.

There is a beautiful and well-maintained place for swimming (also for small children) with a boat mooring 300 metres away. It is an 800-metre walk to a Coop supermarket (daily 7.00-21.00). There is a doctor in the neighbouring locality about 5km away. The Markaryd municipality in the south-west of Småland is very popular among German tourists, as it is just a stone’s throw from Germany. A wide range of attractions await visitors: how about an elk safari in Smålandet, where you can experience elks in open nature from your car? Culture lovers can visit historical churches, museums and other attractions. You can discover a wide variety of bird life in the Store Mosse National Park, where the newly opened Nature Museum presents the particular flora and fauna of the largest moor area in Sweden to the south of Lappland. The creativity of the locals has brought fame to glass makers such as Kosta Boda and Orrefors. The area around Markaryd is an Eldorado for fishing enthusiasts, with countless romantic lakes with a wealth of fish. There are many excellently maintained golf courses inviting you to swing your club. Or you can simply enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. The following activities are also available: hiking, Nordic walking, canoeing (payable), swimming in the North Sea and Baltic Sea (each within less than an hour’s drive), waterskiing (Vittsjö), western riding (JA ranch), golf (e.g. Vittsjö Golfclub), a go carting alley (Halmstad), winter sports (downhill and cross country), sightseeing (Helsingborg, Ljungby, Halmstad etc.)
