Casa vista mare is located in the Basilicata region on the Gulf of Policastro, south of Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Basilicata is one of the few still hardly discovered regions of Italy. The inhabitants still live as of old farming, fruit growing and a little fishing. Tourism is only a few places like Matera (2019 cultural capital of Europe) and Maratea developed on a small scale. The area is still pure, authentic and remained averse to interfering external influences. Maratea is located in a spectrum of one hand an azure sea with idyllic beaches and black on the other side green rough and craggy mountain massifs with a rich flora and fauna. On top of the hills are located the striking medieval villages with rich culture and tradition. The locals are extremely friendly and hospitable and life is still pure and authentic. Visiting eg. Aieta, Rivello, Orsomarso or Moregerati leaves deep impressions after. Around Maratea there are no less than three national parks. The area is wild and untouched, but the ultimate for lovers of nature, culture and the typical southern Italian cuisine. You can get groceries and fresh rolls in the village of Massa in supermercato il Piscitelli at 800 m. You will have to order the sandwiches one day in advance at the supermarket. "Il piccolo ranch" is a good restaurant in the immediate area, it is located at only 100m. distance, opposite the entrance to the private access road to casa vista mare.
